In the first quarter of 2021, the wellness app sector in Australia experienced a variety of trends across key performance metrics. Data provided by Sensor Tower delivers a snapshot of how five leading wellness apps fared on the Android platform.
Headspace: Sleep & Meditation saw its revenue peak in early February at around $27K, tapering off to $23K by the end of March. Downloads spiked in mid-January with over 12K, but this figure gradually declined to just over 4K by the quarter's close. Weekly active users started strong at around 50K but dipped to approximately 44K in the same period.
Calm - Sleep, Meditate, Relax demonstrated a revenue high of $22K in mid-January, with a slight decrease to $18K by March end. The app's downloads hit a high of over 7K in the first week of January, but this number declined to about 4K by the quarter's end. Weekly active users exhibited a modest decrease from 37K to 30K.
For Fabulous Daily Routine Planner, revenue peaked in late January at nearly $9K, descending to around $5K by March. Downloads reached their zenith in mid-January with over 5K, later dropping to approximately 3K. The app maintained a relatively stable number of weekly active users, starting at about 14K and ending the quarter near 16K.
Waking Up: Beyond Meditation saw revenue fluctuate, with a high of nearly $7K in early January and a similar figure at the quarter's end. Downloads were highest at the start of January at around 1K, decreasing to just over 500 by March. Weekly active users showed a slight decrease from 4.3K to 4K throughout the quarter.
Lastly, Moshi Kids experienced a surge in revenue in mid-January at approximately $3.5K, but this decreased to about $2.8K by March. Downloads saw a high of over 2K in the first week of January, with a decline to around 600 by quarter's end. Weekly active users peaked at over 4K in early January, then dropped to just under 2.8K.
